As in all military organizations, the 4th Alabama has a structured Chain of Command.  When you join the company, you will start out as a private.  However, there is always the opportunity to rise in rank based on your abilities and performance during the campaign season.  Many times soldiers are "breveted" to the next higher rank as the need arises.  "To brevet" means to temporarily promote to a higher rank.

As of January 1, 2010, the command structure will be changing.  The rank of Captain now belongs to Rick Creacy, 1st Sergeant to Don Green, and Corporal remains Shawn Joiner.

The current (2009) rank structure for the 4th Alabama, Company B is as follows:

Quartermaster - Shawn Joiner                     Secretary/Treasurer - Tonnia Maddox Chaplain -  Rev. Dudley Clark Marine Detachment - Our Marine Detachment is currently made up of 4th Alabama members who have served or are currently serving in the US Marine Corps.  We are working on getting our Marines outfitted in the proper Civil War uniforms.  We have 7 Marines on our roll with the most celebrated and respected being Orderly Sergeant Jack Graham.  "Mr. Jack", as he was reverently called, was a World War II Veteran. Mr. Jack passed away in October 2008
